How I See Therapy

Sometimes we feel that something is wrong, but we don't really understand what is going on.

Having the opportunity to get to know ourselves better, why we have certain thoughts, why we feel the way we do, or why we respond with certain behaviours and patterns, can help us understand what is happening and create change.

I see therapy as a collaborative process. We work together towards what matters to you, whether that is understanding yourself better, developing self-esteem and confidence, managing your emotions, or changing behaviours and patterns that are no longer helpful.

You hold the knowledge, wisdom and resources to create change.

This is why I don't see therapy as a space for advice, instructions or directions. Instead, it is a space where we can learn to understand ourselves in a clear and non-judgemental way.

My role is to create this space and bring psychological knowledge and interventions that are adapted to you and your needs.

You are the expert on your own story.

My Approach

I take an integrative approach, drawing on different psychological approaches depending on the person, their needs and what we are working towards.

From Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), I draw on work around emotions, self-criticism and our relationship with ourselves and our bodies.

From Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I draw on tools to explore thinking patterns, habits and the “mind traps” that can keep us stuck.

Using Mindfulness, I guide you to connect with the present moment and reshape how you engage with your thoughts and experiences.

I also draw on Solution-Focused approaches to help identify goals, explore what matters to you and look towards possible solutions and meaningful change.
